Manchester City line up Van Persie swoop

|

The Mirror is reporting that Manchester City are set to make Arsenal captain, Robin Van Persie their number 1 transfer target in the summer.

This comes as no surprise to me as Van Persie is the hottest property in the game right now and all the other big clubs would love to have him in their side. But right now he is an Arsenal player and we are going to do all we can to keep him.

The basis on this speculation centers around the fact that Van Persie has not signed a new contract yet with Arsenal as he only has 18 months left on his current deal. It is thought that if Arsenal fail to qualify for the Champions League next season and not win an silverware this term, Van Persie may think about moving clubs in search of glory.

This would not be the first time that City raid Arsenal as they have already signed Nasri and Clichy. Losing Van Persie to them would be a bitter pill to swallow.

As for City, we all know that they have the money to pay the transfer fee we would demand for Van Persie and with them set to sell Tevez, they will also be in the hunt for another top class striker to replace the Argentine.

If City offer us £30million for Van Persie in the summer, should we take it if our captain has still not signed a new contract by then?

What a crazy world we live in. Wenger has to weigh up his chances of making the top four and he has to be very honest with himself. He can put on the `positive thinking` act with the world at large but he has be honest with himself. If there is reasonable doubt about making Europe next season he might as well resign himself to losing van Persie. Should he be able to sign one or two top class players in the mean time there are lots of plus`s, should he fail he might as well take the cash. The Arsenal board must endorse spending what ever is required at this time. Even if they endorse it there is still the problem of availability.
I can`t imagine Wenger thinking he won`t make the top four or he couldn`t motivate the team so much will depend on Kroenke and the board.

I think aresne Wenger should concentrate to who to sale , he must not even consider selling rvp it will be a big mistake. lets just good players like Goetze, podolski and other good to keep both straiking and defense Strong.

If I assume to know Wenger very well, he will not buy any top player in January citing non availability. The truth is that you can buy players you want if you are willing to pay the price except from some money bag clubs. Wenger not improving the squad in January, will meam that we cannot make the top four because I can’t see this Arsenal team plus all the returnee injured ones making it. Ask for Wenger, he will find excuses to justify the failure.
