Arsenal are interested in £87million Brazilian striker

The transfer window may be closed but that does not mean that the news and speculation linking Arsenal with new players has stopped. During the summer, Arsenal were linked with almost every striker across Europe and at the end of it all we did not get the big name striker signing that many fans had hoped for.

Dennis Bergkamp has come out this week and said that Arsenal need and out and out striker to play upfront with Van Persie as we can not rely on Van Persie being our goal poacher supreme.

Now it is being reported that Arsenal made an approach for Porto’s Brazilian striker Hulk but nothing came out of it and Wenger may try to make a £23million bid. Hulk has a staggering £87million release clause in his contract which would scare anyone away.

However, Hulk’s agent has said, “Every year there are more clubs interest in Hulk and I am also aware that there are clubs from outside the Premier clubs interested.

“This Arsenal rumour is news to me but it is true that there has been contact before but nothing happened.

“But I speak often with Porto and the figures have not changed. He will only be sold if someone pays the €100m (£87m) so this figure of £23m that has appeared would not be considered.”

Do you think Hulk is the kind of striker we need at Arsenal?
