Wenger set to bid for Chelsea striker in January

|

Arsene Wenger may finally be set to get his long term transfer target in the January transfer window. Wenger tried to buy Salomon Kalou from Feyenoord in 2006 but lost out to Chelsea. In February 2009, Kalou caused major controversy by admitting that he would love to play for Wenger.

Now Kalou is in the final year of his current Chelsea deal and it does not look like he will be getting a new deal as he has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea and thus the club may decide to cash in on him in January. A bid of £6million is thought to be enough to tempt Chelsea to sell.

It is also being reported that Liverpool are also interested in signing Kalou so it may come down to a bidding war between us and them.

Would Salomon Kalou be a good signing for Arsenal?

I voted NO not because I doubt his worth but that I think Wenger should consentrate on the defence in January as the first stage of rebuilding the team. Let`s get our injured back and return to our style of football with confidence then, come the summer look at the offensive department and be prepared to pay the price.
