Van Persie wanted by Russian club

Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala are reportedly keeping a close eye on Arsenal striker Robin van Persie as they seek to buy their way to success. Anzhi have made the headlines by signing Samuel Eto’o from Inter Milan and paying him a staggering £250,000-a-week.

Now the club, backed by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov are set to continue their shopping spree to bring in the best players in the world, including our very own captain.

“Anelka is not the only player. Nene from PSG and Van Persie from Arsenal are players we are following,” said Anzhi’s assistant caretaker coach whilst speaking to TV show Canal Football Club.

If Arsenal continue to do poorly, I see no reason why Van Persie would want to stay at Arsenal but I doubt he would be tempted to join the Russian club all for the sake of money. I can see Van Persie going to a Real Madrid or AC Milan where he will be able to challenge and win trophies. Ultimately, I would not want to see him leave Arsenal at all as we need him if we are to build a successful team.
