Why I had to leave Arsenal

Armand Traore has now left Arsenal and joined QPR on a three year deal. The left-back has admitted that he had to leave Arsenal this summer and cited the limited chances of playing in the Arsenal first team as the reason for his departure.

Traore was in the Arsenal side on Sunday against Manchester United but that would be a game he would quickly want to forget. Gael Clichy was the first left-back to leave Arsenal this summer and now Traore and couple that with the lack of experience with Gibbs and his injury problems, it is no surprise that Wenger has opted to bring in the Brazilian Santos to play at left-back.

Following his move to QPR, Traore said: “When I talked to Neil Warnock he was very passionate about what I could bring to the club.

“He was very motivated about playing me week in, week out, and that’s what I need at this stage of my career.

“I’ve not been able to prove and show what I’m all about because I’ve been at two big, big clubs like Juventus and Arsenal.”
