The Mirror is running an exclusive today where they say that Arsenal will make a new £12million bid which could rise to around £15million for Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill. It is thought that Cahill has told Bolton that he wants to leave and go and join Arsenal before the transfer window closes this week.
I watched Bolton play Liverpool on Saturday and Cahill did not have a good game at all and probably because his mind is not with Bolton anymore as he pushes to get a move to join us. That could easily have been the last time we saw Cahill in a Bolton shirt.
Signing Cahill would be a brilliant move for Arsenal as we need some defensive cover. Just looking at our game today against Manchester United, we are very short of options as Vermaelen and Koscielny are both injury concerns.

I watched him and he performed better than what you are suggesting. The other Bolton defenders dragged the team down. I am not suggesting he’s world class, but he can be counted on.
