Nasri

Wenger: Selling Nasri may be a good thing for Arsenal

|

Now that we have sold Nasri to Manchester City, life can go on at Arsenal and we can now focus on what is going on on the field and not worry about if Fabregas is staying or going or if Nasri is signing a new contract.

“There is also a concern but not an excuse, you are always concerned of the consequences that it can have on the team,” he told Sky Sports News on the departures of big-name players.

“It can also have a positive consequence. If you are strong mentally you can increase the solidarity knowing that you have to fight more.

“And that’s what you ideally want from mentally strong players.”

Do you agree with Wenger? Could we actually get better from losing these two big-name players in Nasri and Fabregas?

  • glad that he is going now that its so clear that money is all he wants. hope he ends up like ade as nasri’s no where near as good as silva and will not get near wilshire!

  • Tamrat from Ethiopia says:

  • Raddikal says:

    71 million from selling players and no new players since = huge profits for the board! People need to stop hating on wenger as its not his decision to buy/sell players.

  • do the maths you clueless keyboard warriors… NOBODY WILL JOIN US UNTIL WE QUALIFY FOR THE CL TOMORROW!!!

    some of the above comments are a joke and just show your not truly gunners!

  • T2T says:

    IF the rumored amounts are true;
    Fabregas = 35m
    Nasri = 24m
    Clichy = 7m
    Eboue = 3m
    Jay Emmanuel-Thomas= 1m
    70m in
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain = 12m
    Gervinho = 10m
    Carl Jenkinson = 1m
    23-24m out

    In addition, it was rumored that Arsenal had around 25m before any transfers as well as the possible ~9m for Bendtner. Both Fabregas and Nasri were top earners at Arsenal and if we stipulate that the other 3 equals approximately what the 3 new players earn, the CLUB should be able to bring in 2 top players equalling Cesc and Nasri for around 70m + Bendtner’s fee and earnings.
    Who of the desired quality will be willing to come in unless Arsenal progress tomorrow? Should Arsenal focus on the very top quality, young (18-22) players on 8+ year contracts and just start over? Right now, I’m so disheartened…

  • BatonRougeGooner says:

    wenger better move fast but he probably wont though…I would prefer midfielder, then a forward, then a defender now since the departures

  • Si says:

    Call yourselves arsenal fans. Those that abuse our manager and team simply show themselves up with their lack of understanding. We have competed at the top level and though failed at the last stages, have been involved in the top competitions. We cannot compete financially with Chelsea or M city but do still compete in football. Wenger has consistently kept us in and around the top. Wake up, and start telling us who to replace him with??

  • TheTruth says:

    All you Wenger Haters…. Jog on to support ManCity you Wankers…. you’re no better than NASRI.

  • Adebisi says:

    We want wenger 2 give us new sginer

  • Wenger should sign more players says:

    Does anyone know why Joel Campbell and Ryo Miyachi are not on the plane to Italy? Are they even allowed to play for Arsenal this season?
