Forget about Mancini – Nasri should play against Udinese

This transfer window has to be one of the craziest Arsenal have ever been through. First of all, Wenger played Nasri against Liverpool on Saturday despite him being linked with a move to Manchester City. I recall hearing a commentator before the match with Liverpool saying that Liverpool should put in a hard tackle on Nasri and that would keep him quiet for the rest of the game as he would be afraid to get injured before his move to City.

Now Roberto Mancini is suggesting that City will not go ahead and buy Nasri if he plays against Udinese this week in the Champions League. If Nasri plays, he will be cup-tied for the Champions League and therefore not be able to play for City in the competition if he signs for them.

“For 40 days I’ve hoped in two days, three days (it would be done), I don’t know why we haven’t closed it,” Mancini said.

“It’s a big problem (if he plays for Arsenal against Udinese) but I’m sure we can close in 24 hours, maybe 48. For Nasri it will be important he can play in all the Champions League matches.”

I hope Wenger does not take this as a threat coming from Mancini. If the deal is not done before Arsenal play Udinese then Wenger should play Nasri as he is still an Arsenal player and this is a must win game for us where we need all our top players on the field.
