With the Fabregas transfer money now in the bank and Arsenal looking extremely thin in midfield, it is no surprise that we are being linked with a move for a new central midfielder today. The Mirror is reporting that Arsene Wenger has added France international Yann M’Vila to his list of targets before the transfer window closes next week.
Now this is a player who excites me and the kind of addition we need to our squad. M’Villa is still only 21-years-old but he is already a full French international with 11 caps and a critical player for Rennes. The tough tackling midfielder would add some much needed steel to our midfielder alongside Song. We have not really been able to find a replacement for Vieira since he left but M’Villa could just be the answer.
It is suggested that M’Villa would cost in the region of £10million which is not bad at all considering Arsenal have not spent much this summer at all.

Buy Cahill/ Samba and L Baines as a left back and add KAKA, Hazard with M’Vila. I don’t mind Benzema. We need players of quality and experience if we are to compete with the Manchesters, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham.
In the good times he goes French .. in the bad times he goes French. Don’t need M’Villa at all. He is not world class and if AW, after 15 years, can’t provide a decent supply of English talent then what a revealing indictment of his ability to spot and develop talent. This is the first year that we have more than a sniff of youngsters cementing their places. There’s been the sniff before like against Olympiacos in 2009 but many of those, like Cruise & Randall have been sold on. As well as JET and Simpson. Both of whom I consider to be better than Bender and Chamackh. Is this it after 15 years … Gibbs, Wilshire & Frimpong? Even Jenkinson has walked in from non league to the first team in 10 months. What does that say about Youth development at Arsenal?
We need Cahill and Baines before any other position is even considered. But he wont buy them as they don’t speak French. (I imagine) As for Kaka, I wouldn’t bother either. Hollywood millionaire flop. @ 200k a week he would ruin the dressing room.

I can’t understand this rumour. A defensive midfielder is the last position that needs to be filled with song and frimpong now established. After watchin the last 3 games it is clear we need a Cb, creative midfielder and another goalscoring striker

Is he only priced at £10 mil’? I thought he’d be more like £20 mil’! If we can get him then I’d be very very happy! I’ve followed him a lot and he is an absoloute monter of a player. He’s nicknamed “the destoyer” because he’s strong, he can break up play and makes those around him play better. He’s awsome. Song on the other hand has got comfortable and isn’t disciplined. I like Song i really do but he thinks he can play a bit and starts moving upfield when he needs to stay and protect the back four. M’Vila would get the best out of Song and he’d creat big competiton for a starting birth. GET HIM IN!!! Quality, quality player!
