[Video] He reminds me of Thierry Henry when he first joined Arsenal

We all remember when Thierry Henry arrived at Arsenal in 1999 after his terrible stint at Juventus where he was deployed as a winger. Arsene Wenger then took Henry and molded him into one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen. I can not see why Wenger can not do the same with Gervinho.

Now when I look at Gervinho and the few games I have seen him play for Arsenal and Ivory Coast, I can see a bit of a 1999 Thierry Henry in him: they ability to run with the ball whilst operating on either flanks and not being afraid to attack the goal. Now I am not suggesting at all that Gervinho can be the next Henry for us but I am gaining more and more faith in Gervinho when I see him play.

Last night (Tuesday) against Udinese, he played very well as you can see from the video below. He was switching flanks and cutting in when ever he can. He does not have the pace of Henry but Gervinho is no slouch at all. I think he is the perfect fit for Wenger and he will get the best out of him as the season goes on.

It is a pity that we will miss Gervinho for 3 matches following his ridiculous red card against Newcastle. I hope this will not kill the momentum he has picked up.
