Wednesday Rumour: Arsenal linked with a move for Lucas

Now before you get shocked, it is not the Lucas from Liverpool! I would not want us to sign him even if he was the last midfielder in the league especially after he dived to win the penalty against us last season at the Emirates. It is been reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia from Anderlecht according to the London Metro.

Arsenal have been keeping an eye on the midfielder and with Denilson having left the club and Fabregas almost set to follow him out of Arsenal, Wenger may need to go into the market and buy a new central midfielder.

The 25-year-old was part of the Argentina squad at the recent Copa America and he has said that he feels he has achieved all he can in Belgium and now wants to test himself in the Premier League.

“I think I have ended my cycle at Anderlecht and I want to do something new,” Biglia told Het Nieuwsblad.

“The board know what I want to do. I know that playing for the Argentina national side means I get plenty of exposure and opens lots of doors.

“Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.”

Not many of you may have seen Lucas play let alone heard of the tough tackling Argentine midfielder. Below is a video of him courtesy of YouTube user Soccerclips11.
