The footballing world was left stunned when United Arab Emirates player, Theyab Awana, scored a penalty by backheeling the ball into the goal.
Awana was booked at the time, even though the goal stood, and UAE team manager Esmaeel Rashed is ready to take his own action.
Rashed said: “This should not have happened. I think what happened is disrespectful.
“We cannot accept anyone in our team who does not respect the opponent and does not respect the people who are working, or the supporters.
“There are many forms of punishment. We could send him away from the team or we could make him pay a fine.”
UAE coach Srecko Katanec was also unimpressed, immediately substituting Awana after the penalty — just 10 minutes after sending him on!
i can hear arsenal fan’s voice and groans…”arsene sign him”….
lowl..
who cares whether xavi uses the hammer between his legs to score a penalty or an off-side goal.
freaking fascists don’t appreciate genuine skill and balls. why is it disrespectful when the keeper has every chance to save it?
you think its easy to execute that? isnt that what joga bonita is about?
that would have been hilarious if the goalie saved it or he missed it.
damn he actually sent the keeper wrong way! this should be applauded, not condemned. it would be bad if he celebrated gol with cha cha dancing or smth.
