With Liverpool having wasted £20million on signing Stewart Downing whom was also linked with a move to Arsenal, the Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal will be able to sign Juan Mata from Valencia for the same amount Liverpool spent on Downing.
Now I bet you that Liverpool feel really silly now! For the amount they spent on Downing they could have gotten a much better player such as Mata. This is good news from Arsenal as I would rather have Mata over Downing any day.
Although Valencia have insisted that they will not sell Mata, an offer of £20million could just tempt them to sell. If this is true then Wenger must not waste any time and make this deal. Mata would be a quality addition for Arsenal especially if Fabregas and Nasri leave.
I know AW can’t pay that much.

From my point of view, Mata will be a good addition for arsenal,but the Nasri and Fabregas case is still uncertain,so if i was wenger, i’d rather worry about keeping them in the team, sell squillaci,bendtner,chamakh,denilson,almunia,and whoever suits the criteria and start enforcing the other departments of the team,because we definitely need strength down the wings if we wanna get back to the times when we had Pires,Ljungberg,Overmars and Thierry Henry.
And last but not the least,We need a goal keeper like Akinfeev,or Neuer or even Lloris, and 2 quick solid central defenders,

When Fabregas goes we should sign De Rossi and Mata for that money. It would cost around the same amount. If Nasri refuses to sign a new contract sell him for 25million and buy Hazard so the squad would be a lot better. Sell Squallici, Eboue and Almunia. Buy Dann and Cahill and let Lansbury and Miquel go on loan at Bolton. That would be brilliant for them and let Bartley go back to Rangers. Great squad and let Diaby and Denilson go and sign Scott Parker. Play 442 and Walcott through the middle.
