Fabregas

A hint that Fabregas could stay at Arsenal

|

With a large number of Arsenal fans already accepting that Cesc Fabregas may leave the club this summer and go back to Barcelona, there may just be hope that our captain is going to stick around for a bit long, for the fans sake.

Fabregas is not going on the Far East tour with Arsenal as he is still injured and will be remaining in London to in a bid to get back to full fitness. Fabregas tweeted the following yesterday (Saturday):

“Im sorry to all the fans in Asia that I wont be on the tour. After just returning from Indonesia I know how special u all r. Ill make it up.”

The part that has got people talking is his last statement, “Ill make it up”. This must mean that he will make it up to the fans by staying at Arsenal and hopefully returning to Asia one day still as an Arsenal player.

Wenger has made it clear that he hopes he can keep Fabregas and Nasri at Arsenal for the coming season. It will not be easy but it is still possible. If Barcelona can not afford Fabregas then he will stay at Arsenal as I can not see him leaving Arsenal for any other club besides Barcelona.

    He should stay

  • bc says:

Or perhaps he is thinking of going to Asia in the next World Club Cup in JAPAN with Barcelona!!

  • UMOH EKWO says:

I used to be one of his admirers but of recent, I have soft pedaled. Please let him go now that he has value. With his injury proneness, we may not get much money from selling him next season because the drama will re surface.

  • Ochieng Ochiewo says:

Nothing for Arsenal fans to sing about here. Pure conjecture from this author. No substance in the article. It would cost him nothing to state “I am staying.” Fab had set his mind to leave. Should do just that. His stay would be big distraction and continue attracting endless, infantile debate.

  • AlexH says:

Agree, pure conjecture and wishful thinking.
Do believe that he will give 100% if the sale doesn’t go through. His stats last season, despite the injury problems were amongst the best.

Barca will only afford him if they don’t get Alexis Sanchez.

  • Marc says:

Grabbing at straws here im afraid. Cesc is homesick and his head and heart are no longer with us so we should find someone that has the desire for Aresenal.

  • Gavin says:

Yep wishful thinking I’m afraid, more aimed at Cesc Fabregas fans rather than Arsenal fans. I dont believe he is still injured, He hasn’t played for 2 months and still has a muscle injury, LOL how stupid does he think we are.

  • Semitop says:

He should go, his mind is just 2 get back 2 catalan. He staying is a distrac tion 2 d team. Djourou’s statement about him was an irony 2 d fanz.

  • forbar says:

sometimes i imagine if fab4 believes or thnks in hs heart that we arsenal fans are fools. I just wish he goes and leaves us in peace. Why cant him just say ‘i wil win the league for arsenal to make it up for the fans’ uh? Or is that too much word 4rm a team captain?

  • gooner b says:

I dont think Fabregas is referring to the Arsenal fans but rather his own personal fan base.Doesnt matter which club he is going to be with,he will still make up as Fabregas and not as an arsenal player.

    Gunnerss for lyffffff……

  • Mahmoud Suleiman says:

    I love Arsenal…..

  • Will says:

I seriously doubt he will go this season. People seriously need to use their brains. Barca are going after Sanchez, and they are very close to getting him for a price at 30-40 million. Barca has said they only have 40 million to spend. What, are they going going to sign Fabregas for 10 million? Ridiculous.

Unless Cesc forgets Barca and publicly re-commits to AFC and apologises to the fans for the last 2 seasons mayhem, he should not be an AFC player next season.

This is nothing, these guys lie all the time.

  • bimlaw says:

goonerz fans need 2 give FAB d respect he deserves. it’s one of his professional decisions 2 d club he wishes 2 play 4. without mincing words, he’s a committed & faithful arsenal player. if he goes 2 barca, we shld appreciate him. but i hope he sees 1 or 2 reasons 2 stay e.g let d club sign 2 or more earth-moving players, who can send cold chill down the spine of the big wigs.

  • Queentone says:

This man fab should just leave even if loaning him to barca coz he’s not played for us for about 3mths n now injury how come barca bid 50million for bale n a paltry 27m for fab-loan him @once.

  • Pete says:

He doesn’t need to be an Arsenal player to make that promise, nor would he need to be so cryptic if he was staying. I actually want him to leave now. Not because I dislike him or don’t think he is good enough but because we have all had enough of this speculation and if he does leave, Nasri might see the central role as his. I would rather get £30m for Cesc and give Nasri the contract he wants.

  • Carl says:

At this stage I want Cesc and Nasri gone, along with Denilson, Almunia and Bendy. I have always been a big Cesc fan but his head has been turned and along with the constant hamstring injurys, Will he give us 100% next season if here?

We could buy Mata,Benzema,Gervinho and Cahill & change back to a 442 formation. I dont want players that are constantly flirting with other teams and to have your captain do that is disrespectful to the great history of our club.A fresh start is exactly what we need right now.

  • Willo says:

    Fab is staying alright.
    So it seems is Nasri.
Anyone who says this is not good news needs their head read.
I’m just waiting for Modric to sign. Fancy him trusting a gentlemans agreement with Levy.
