If we are to believe the Mirror, Arsenal are finally set to complete their first major signing of the summer as Gervinho is said to be in London today to undergo a medical ahead of his £11million move from Lille.
We have been hearing about this deal since the beginning of June and we always hear, “Gervinho is in London”, “Gervinho is on the verge of completing his deal” or “Gervinho now an Arsenal player”. But none of that has happened. So today as we wait to see what happens with this deal, we hope that it can finally take place.
It has not been an easy summer for Wenger at all. This mus be his hardest one as an Arsenal manager. He has to deal with the Fabregas and Nasri sagas. He has gotten rid of the Clichy drama as he has sold him to Manchester City. He still has to contain with the likes of Bendtner and Denilson who want to leave and at the same time try bring in some new players.
Weneger has already missed out on Ricardo Alvarez who has decided to join Inter Milan. If Nasri and Fabregas both leave, we are going to have to look for a new play maker and Alvarez was meant to be the man.
Hopefully Gervinho’s deal comes through today or tomorrow so we can have something to celebrate about!
