Arsenal linked with shock move for Manchester United defender

The Mirror is reporting that Arsenal are interested in sign Manchester United defender John O’Shea! Now why on earth would Arsenal want to sign O’Shea? I know we need to bring in some new defenders notably since Clichy is on the verge of leaving and we also need a new central defender, but O’Shea is not the answer.

I understand that we need some experienced players in our squad, O’Shea may be 30 years old and have experience from winning trophies with Manchester United but in my opinion he is one of the worst defenders I have seen play!

There is no doubt that Manchester United are ready to sell O’Shea after all these years of mediocrity from the player so why get a player who is towards the end of his shelf life? We signed Mikaël Silvestre from Manchester United in 2008 and that for me was a bad move as Silvestre was not that great a defender. Why should we make the same mistake again if we do go for O’Shea?

I just hope that the Mirror wrote this report just to sell papers and there is nothing serious about this speculation or else I am going to be sick!
