The Gervinho transfer has taken a new twist. We have been wondering for a while now, why has this deal not been concluded yet as we have been linked with Gervinho strongly since the start of the transfer window. There had even be suggestions that maybe Lille had rejected Arsenal’s bid for Gervinho and that is why the transfer is taking so long to come through. But now the latest we are hearing is that Gervinho has told Lille that he wants to play for Arsenal next season.
Lille president Michel Seydoux said: “I have spoken with Gervinho and he wants to play for Arsenal next season.
“This is clear but now we must get an agreement between the two clubs.
“We have maintained contact but still the Londoners have not presented us with a formal offer.
“Negotiations are ongoing but Gervinho has demanded a solution to the situation soon.”
So now we know where we stand. We can forget about all the speculation that Lille have rejected our offer or that Gervinho has decided not to join Arsenal. According to the Lille president, Arsenal still have not made a formal bid for Gervinho. Why Arsenal? I am getting so frustrated that we seem to be taking our time in the transfer market. The longer we wait, the chances get higher that the players price will rise or he will change his mind and decide to join another club.
Gervinho wants to play for us, we need him so let us go get him now please.

Arsene Wenger has the money this transfer season and I’m sure he will buy at least two good players. All of you fans are expecting a miracle and Arsenal are not going to get that. Majority of the fans would still piss and moan if Arsenal bought Messi. But you must have faith. Arsene Wenger will buy players because he knows what he is doing. Unlike you lot who think the answer to all problems will be to buy players. Look at Real Madrid, A star studded team yet they’re not the best? Arsenal are a young team and have time to improve.
