“We 100 per cent support Arsene” but the fans will decide if he stays

|

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has told Arsene Wenger that he has the full backing of the club’s board. Gazidis was speaking at a meeting with the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust at the Emirates as fans aired their frustration after a sixth successive season without a trophy.

“We 100 per cent support Arsene,” Gazidis said. “I 100 per cent support him and feel he has done a fantastic job in a difficult period for this club.

“Arsene has done a remarkable job to stay at the top end of the game, although we have to acknowledge we haven’t delivered trophies and that is critical for the club.

Ultimately Arsene is ultimately accountable to the fans — they ultimately make judgment. If you are seeing the relationship between the fans and the manager break down over time that is unsustainable. But I don’t think we are anywhere near that.”

So judging from Gazidis’ comments, we the fans have the final say in if we want Arsene to stay or go. You can just see how strong the influence of the fans is when you look at Liverpool and how they got rid of Roy Hodgson. The fans got rid of him as they did not want him. I hope we do not have to go as far as what Liverpool did and start to chant the name of someone else to come in and take over Arsenal.

If he knows he won’t bring something at Emirates, then he should leave.
