According to reports in the Daily Mirror Arsenal have secured a deal to bring Southampton’s 17 year old winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to the Emirates for £12million. Chamberlain will be an Arsenal player on 1 July.
This deals shows that Arsenal can still compete with the other big clubs in the transfer market as the winger was also being tracked by Liverpool and Manchester United.
Arsenal came close to signing Chamberlain in January but that did not happen but now we seem to have gotten our man following his father saying his son must join Arsenal.
Chamberlain may not be the signing many fans expected but it is a good start. There will be more bigger signings to come.
