Wenger did all he could to sign Phil Jones

|

Arsenal are in the market for a new central defender and Blackburn’s Phil Jones was a high priority on Arsene Wenger’s list but Jones decided to sign for Manchester United. Many Arsenal fans are not happy about losing out on Jones but according to Express journalist Matt Law, Wenger did all he could to sign Jones.

Law tweeted, “Were prepared to offer bigger wages than utd. Jones chose utd cause of n west connection and footballing reasons. Wenger did all he could”.

So not only did Wenger try to get Jones but we were willing to offer more money to the defender that Manchester United are giving. What more can you ask from Wenger? At the end of the day Jones probably chose United because he wanted to continue staying in the North West.

The hunt continues for Arsene!

It figures that Jones wanted to join a club that prefers winning trophies to one that prefers to bank money. AFC are a football club not a financial institution.
