Arsenal could well be lining up a bid for Chelsea’s Salomon Kalou this summer as the Ivory Coast star is not sure about his future at Stanford Bridge especially since he does not know who their new manager will be. Kalou has endured a stop-start career at Stamford Bridge, and has so far failed to convince any manager that he’s worth a regular place in the starting lineup.
Wenger has tried to sign Kalou in the past but he was not successful in his attempt. ‘We tried to get him (Kalou) last year (2008). But Chelsea refused and I have never spoken to him. I just asked Chelsea if we could talk about him,’ said Arsene Wenger.
Now if Wenger is back in with a move for Kalou this summer, would this be a wise signing? Kalou is not an out and out striker which is what we need right now. Although Kalou can play out wide, we have enough wide players at Arsenal right now so we do not need him to fill that role. What do you think of the potential signing of Kalou?
