There has been a lot of speculation that Arsene Wenger is lining up a summer move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema but nothing concrete has happened yet. Wenger has acknowledged that Benzema is a good player, which he is and I believe he is the kind of striker we need in order to compete next season.

Reports had suggested that Benzema’s agent was in London a couple of days ago to discuss a potential transfer with the Gunners but that was not meant to be.

Karim Djaziri who is Benzema’s agent came out and said, “I went to London for personal business, not to discuss any transfer,”

“Karim Benzema has a contract with Real Madrid so let’s wait and see.

“He loves Madrid and wants to play every time as he loves playing football.”

So for all that speculation that Benzema is close to joining the Gunners: we can park that away for a while.

  1. An Arsenal fan for life to the core. Arsenal should explore every means to successfully challenge for SILVERWARE next season. Thanks.

Once I heard wenger talking about Benzema it meant he was not joining Arsenal. Wenger never discusses his targets as it could mean other clubs getting involved, I think Benzema is a smokescreen for something else.

I agree with you Gavin but it would be great if we are able to get Benzema. Him and Van Persie upfront will remind me of the Bergkamp and Henry days.

I agree with you guys but it will be fantastic,if Wenger will bring Benzema to Arsenal and to play with Van persie and i think no team will defeat Arsenal and remind of Henry and Kanu days.
