Benitez is hoping to get the Liverpool job again but I doubt he will ever get it. He had his chance at Liverpool and I can not see them giving him another chance. So where does that leave Benitez? There is no doubt that he is a top class coach, you just have to look at his success at Valencia and Liverpool. He did not have the best of times at Inter Milan and now he wants to manage a Premier League side again.

It was thought that he could have joined Aston Villa in the summer but that move did not happen. Now I got thinking that we (Arsenal) are under pressure and there are growing voices for Wenger to be sacked or be kindly asked to move upstairs and a new manager with new ideas to come in.

My first choice to take over if Wenger were to leave is Dennis Bergkamp. He is an Arsenal legend and he may not have much managerial experience under his belt as he is currently learning the ropes as assistant at Ajax but I have no doubt he has what it takes to lead us to success. But knowing Bergkamp he will not take the manager job at Arsenal unless he is 100% sure he is capable of doing it. He may want to wait 3 or 4 years before he feels he is ready. In the meantime, would Rafa Benitez be a good choice to fill in if Wenger were to leave?

Your thoughts and views would be much welcome.

Wenger tried to buy Salomon Kalou from Feyenoord in 2006 but lost out to Chelsea. In February 2009, Kalou caused major controversy by admitting that he would love to play for Wenger.

Now Kalou is in the final year of his current Chelsea deal and it does not look like he will be getting a new deal as he has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea and thus the club may decide to cash in on him in January. A bid of £6million is thought to be enough to tempt Chelsea to sell.

It is also being reported that Liverpool are also interested in signing Kalou so it may come down to a bidding war between us and them.

“I have been in football for a long, long time and I don’t think just spending money is a target that is defendable,” said Wenger. “To spend the money on a top player is defendable. But just to spend the money is like you are worried.?

“Our fans can be proud of the way we run this club, of the quality of player we have and of the financial situation that is existing at the Club. Rather than convicting this club, they have more reason to be proud of the whole situation here.?

“We have built a team and a stadium in such a short space of time, and have a strong financial situation – and we always survived at the top level. There are more reasons to be positive than the negatives ones being sold by everybody.”

We may have an excellent financial model at the club but why is it no bringing in silverware. I am sick and tired of being told that we are in a very good financial situation but if we can not win anything then what is the point. Wenger talks about only spending money on quality players and I agree with that but why are we not buying these quality players? Why are they going to Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City before us? Why are quality players wanting to leave Arsenal.

Let us take the blinders off now and not fall for this “we are in a good financial position bull****”!

Am I proud of being an Arsenal fan? Yes, I am a Gooner til I die but I am not happy with the way things are going right now at the club. Even on Saturday against Newcastle, you can see that there is still a lot of work to be done on the training ground and we need more players to come in and make the side better or else we may find ourselves outside the top four this season.

It is going to be a long season fro Arsenal in my opinion. As ever in games with us and Newcastle there was a lot of controversy. It is no surprise that Joey Barton was at the centre of it again just like he was last season when Diaby got sent off.

This time round it was Alex Song, who in my opinion was very luck not to see red when he stamped on Joey Barton. It is likely that the FA are going to take action on that silly stamp by Song on Barton which means Song could miss a few games for us and Gervinho who also saw red in that game.
