Arsenal are set to continue their quest to secure their established first-team stars to new deals, with Mesut Ozil and Nacho Monreal next in-line.

The Gunners secured forwards Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott down to new deals over the summer, whilst Monreal is next in-line with a three-year deal backed to be penned imminently.

Now The Daily Mirror suggests Mesut Ozil will follow swiftly, despite the German World Cup winner still having over two-years remaining on his current deal.

Ozil, signed for a club record-fee from Real Madrid in 2013, has his current contract lasting until 2018 but Arsenal do not want the consecutive FA Cup winner to enter the final 24 months of his contract; with Fenerbahce lurking in the shadows.

Arsenal, alongside Walcott and Alexis Sanchez, is amongst the highest-earners at the Emirates and his new deal is likely to extend the bracket of the top earners at the club.

The Gunners see the 26-year-old as a crucial part of their squad, who is integral to their plans both domestically and in Europe; where Arsenal dream of a first Champions League crown.
