Arsenal have secured the Emirates Cup with a 1-0 win against Wolfsburg.

It was a goal from Theo Walcott in the second half that sealed the win.

This is the first occasion where Arsenal have won the Emirates Cup in 4 years.

Theo Walcott shot into the net in the 50th minute after a fantastic pass from teenager Jeff Reine-Adelaide, who made a big impression in the game and in his first senior appearance against Lyon.

Wolfsburg were runners-up in the Bundesliga and had chances and fielded former gunner Nicklas Bendtner.

Petr Cech made his home debut and seemed comfortable in the match.

Arsenal beat Lyon 6-0 in the previous game, but Arsène Wenger made numerous changes with just Mesut Özil from that game starting.

He brought on substitutes including Chuba Akpom who had a chance towards the end and Aaron Ramsey.

Theo Walcott praised the performance of younger players at Arsenal, expressing: “We had to be patient, but in the end we got a nice successful 1-0. The young players play with a free spirit. The club is fantastic to nurture those young talents. They fit in, they’re Arsenal players, and they showed some good stuff today.”

Arsenal next play Chelsea on Sunday in the Community Shield at Wembley in the annual game.
