Arsenal target talks up Premier League move

|

Reported Arsenal target Fabian Schar has revealed that he would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

The Basel defender, whose contract expires in June, has been linked with a January move to the Emirates, and the 22-year-old has strengthened those rumours by admitting that a switch to England appeals to him.

“My dream remains to have an experience abroad. I’ve always said that if the opportunity presented itself, I would take it, obviously in agreement with Basel,” Schar told Blick.

“I need a team with important prospects. I’d like the Bundesliga, Premier League or top Italian clubs like Inter, Milan and Juventus.

“I couldn’t say no. I want to hear all my options and consider them carefully.”

Schar, who has eight caps for Switzerland, has been operating as a right-sided centre-half in a three-man defence for Basel this season, and has picked up just one yellow card in domestic competition for the Swiss club over the last two years.

However, he does not appear to have an injury record as long as the Great Wall of China, so we can probably rule this one out then!
