As expected, rumours regarding Juan Fernando Quintero’s transfer to Arsenal from Porto have turned out to be nonsense.
Arsene Wenger was asked about Quintero in his press conference prior to the Emirates Cup this weekend, and he outright denied any business.
When asked of the possible signing Wenger said: “That is wrong.”
The boss can be guilty of being rather cryptic on occasions, but he made it very clear to the media that there was nothing in rumours connecting him with the Colombian midfielder.
However, Wenger did admit that he was still open to conducting more business.
“I’m very happy [with our business] and I’m still open to do more.
“I think August 15 to 30 will be busy again.”
Thankfully, despite Wenger denying any interest in Quintero, he remains keen to further bolster his squad. This is news that is music to my ears, and no doubt a whole load of other Gooners.
