Arsenal are ready offer Real Madrid a £2million loan fee in order to sign striker Alvaro Morata until the end of the season according to the Metro.

It is no secret that Arsenal need to sign a new striker in January in a bid for us to win the Premier League. We are currently down on options right now with Theo Walcott being ruled out for the season due to a knee injury and Nicklas Bendtner also being out through injury. That leaves Olivier Giroud as the only recognised striker in our squad and that is a very sad situation.

Arsenal have been linked with Real Madrid’s 21-year old striker Morata for some time now, and following Walcott’s injury, I am sure Arsene Wenger will now be stepping up his efforts to try sign the striker.

Morata is not featuring at Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti and a move to another club that will give him more playing time will be beneficial for his career. Morata joining Arsenal will be a win-win situation for everyone involved: Arsenal will get a much needed striker, Morata will get playing time and Real Madrid will be able to command a higher transfer fee for Morata as he will now be in the shop window at Arsenal from playing more regularly.

It is also being reported today that Liverpool may try and also sign Morata on loan. I can not see why they need another striker as they already have Suarez and Sturridge. Morata would hardly get any gametime ahead of those two at Anfield so he is better off coming to the Emirates.

It is not often that a club pays a fee to sign a player on loan, but Arsenal seem to be desperate to get in another striker that they would be willing to part with the £2million to Real Madrid.

When a club like Liverpool wants to sign a player who Arsenal are after is not because they (Liverpool) needed the player. It is simply because they want to spend wastefully so as to deprive Arsenal from achieving their aim.
