Not only are the Arsenal fans calling for a new striker but even Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis sees the urgent need for a new striker.

“We will see where Arsenal will be in January and whether or not the club will invest in another forward,” Gazidis told L’Equipe newspaper.

“Olivier Giroud won’t be able to go on all alone until the end of the season. We need to buy.”

Having seen Arsenal struggle against Manchester United on Sunday, it further emphasised the need for another player to help Giroud.

Giroud will have some games where he struggles and does not play well, that is all part of any strikers game. What is worrying is that our backup striker Nicklas Bendtner is useless! He came on against Manchester United and did not make any impact on the game at all. I would much rather have had Cazorla stay on the field instead of being replaced by the Danish striker.

I hope that Gazidis is serious about bringing in a new striker in January and it is just not him trying to keep the fans happy. They must give Wenger the cash to spend in January and force him to use it or else we will see all our hard work from the start of the season go down the drain.
