Wenger reveals which players he will sign this January
With Arsenal’s continued problem with our injured defender, Arsene Wenger has revealed that he may dip into the transfer market to bring someone in but he has made it clear that we should not expect any big name signings and they are not available and will not be sold by their clubs.
Rather Wenger will look at bringing in someone who is good and experienced but can not get a game at their current club or he will get in a young player no one knows about, and we all know how good Wenger is at finding these young talents.
“At the moment we are exploring potential situations we can take advantage of but there is nothing concrete,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.
“Hopefully the players will come back very quickly now. With Carl Jenkinson we had very good news on his scan and he is starting to practice again, we have Thomas Vermaelen who is the first to come back, Bacary Sagna is evolving well and Santos is doing well too. Let’s hope they all come back quickly.
“All over the world we have our eyes and we look for good [players].
“It is very simple in a situation like that. You might take a player who doesn’t play at all somewhere, who is not necessarily fit quicker than a player who is injured. Or you take a young, potential player who has not made it somewhere.
“A player who plays anywhere in the world at the moment will not be available on loan, it doesn’t exist. It can only be a guy who doesn’t play or a promising player who has not yet made it completely who you could take advantage of.
“That is why it is not an easy situation. You have to consider that a guy who has not played for two months is not necessarily back quicker than Bacary Sagna or another player who is just coming back from injury.”

Again this dithering manager has had 13 days to address the fullback problems but yet nothing.Henry on loan for 2 months but what happens when he leaves? and say Van Persie get injured we will be relying on Chamaka to carry us through the to the end of the season to secure a champions league spot.Not going to happen if not in the top 4 this year Wenger has to go as top 4 is a minimum requirement

Ken do you need me to spell out what Arsene said ? Clubs will not give up players that they need in the middle of the season and if you bring in a player who hasn’t been playing he won’t be match fit and by the time he’s fit your injured players are back. Abidal and Cissokho will not be sold in the middle of the season and will not be sent out on loan so forget about them. So Liverpool and Chelsea made big signings last January but 35m for Carrol and 50m for Torres have to be the worst pieces of business in the football world over the last decade.
I keep saying wenger should be sacked. And continue saying the same. I’m tired of whatever he says which he will always qualify with the word “but”.
Karis he has to say “but” because otherwise if a suitable player wasn’t available and he’d promised to sign one people like you would call him a liar and if he bought any old player just to keep fans quiet for a few weeks he’d be an idiot.
Nesmus ….. Arsene evidently does NOT know. He should have signed a defender on loan on 2nd Jan. having prepared the paper work in December when the crisis was obviously looming.
He should have accepted what most fans have long since accepted … Arshavin has been waste of space for 18 months.
In summer 2009 he should have signed a strong central defender and an experienced goalkeeper (or promote Sczesny without delay.) Instead he threw away points on Squilacci, Djourou, Almunia and Fabianski.
Arsene does NOT know.
This is ridiculous. No left back we could get on loan could be match fit and ready to play before our regulars start returning. The only ones you could get are out of favor, out of form players or kids. It is better to play our own out of favor, out of form players and kids. ManU and Everton are complaining about the injuries to their defenses and they haven’t lost half of the number we have.
We would be better off to add to what has been our best defense, our offense. Force teams to pack their half of the field.
